It's actually quite sophisticated (it's from France). Can you even believe someone is manufacturing such a thing? Truly wonderful. It's some sort of rubberized material (easy to take care of), and it just all works really well. Lightweight, size seems about perfect chicken size, and the base is wide enough so it sits comfortably on a table (to avoid sitting on the floor, see our perfect purse hanger in the Accessories section). Our one caveat is that the opening is a little tight (but that just means we have to be more careful when trying to jam the receipt-thickened wallet into the bag). If you don't mind strangers making comments to you, this is your bag. It's a party-starter. BTW, the ones we currently have in stock have a beige (not red) handle but is otherwise as pictured. Measurements: across (beak to tail) = 13"; height (base to top of handle) = 12"; base = 10" by 7" oval.
